E-Mail Security Virtual Appliance (ESVA)Part 1: ESVA Installation |

Prerequisite
ProcedureStep 1. Login into ESVA console
The default setting for the ESVA system is username : root password : password
You can either change the root password now or later. If you want to change the password immediately, please run the following command. Remember to use complex password :)
Step 2. Run the ESVA Setup scriptSetup of EVSA is very easy. Run the pre-compiled script
Step 4. Keyboard SelectionSince we are using US English keyboard just click OK button to continue.
Step 4. Location SetupSelect continent or ocean of your area. Type in number listed then press <Enter> to continue.
Next, select the the country that you are located. Type in number listed then press <Enter> to continue.
Step 5. Time Zone SetupNext, we define the time zone of our location. Type in number listed then press <Enter> to continue.
Step 6. Time Zone and Country Setup ConfirmationAfter Step5, You will see the following page, where the my setup is US and Pacific Time, I will just type 1 to accept my configuration.
Step 7. UTC Time selectionWe do not want a UTC Time selection just press <Enter> button to continue
Step 8. ESVA Host and Network SetupNext, let us configure our ip address, subnet mask and hostname.
Note: "My HostName[localhost.localdomain]" setting is the name of your ESVA. Remember to use a fully qualified name. e.g. mailgate. yourdomain.com. This should be the same as the Internet DNS A record.
Note: "Your mailserver's name" setting is the ESVA forwards scanned (clean) mail to. This can be either a name or an IP address. My mail server is mail.1a-centosserver.com
Step 9. MailScanner child process setupUnless you have a very huge incoming email voulme (more than 2000 messages/hour). The default of 2 should be enough. According to manual, increasing this beyond 3 will require additional memory to be assigned to your ESVA: 5 child process requires 600MB, 1 processor core ; 6-10 child process required 1024MB memory, 2 processor cores.
Step 10. Configure IANAThe two letter code assigned to your country. We accept US by default.
Step11. Configure normal user account
Normal user account is the account that you can use to ssh to the ESVA system. Since we added postman earlier, ESVA will create user named postman for us.
Step12 . Reboot the CentOS Linux After you have completed the setup. A reboot to the system is required to take effect.
Note If you make a mistake during the setup process, press ctrl-c to exit the setup program. You can then reconfigure using "esva-configure". For version 2 and above, ESVA can be reconfigured with ease.
Step12. Login to ESVAAfter reboot. Login to the system http://192.168.1.21
default username:admin default password: password
Note: Please go to User Management and change your password after setup.
