E-Mail Security Virtual Appliance (ESVA)

ESVA Testing on Spam and Antivirus

 

After installation, let us perform a quick test to verify our ESVA setup.

 

Test1- ESVA  Spam Testing using spam code

 

First, make sure your mail can route  to ESVA before reaching your mailbox. Else, you can ask your friend from external organization to sent you an email with the following code. Simple copy and paste the code to the content of the email

If your ESVA function properly,  the message will be highlighted in red and you will see the SA Score 1000.

Click on the message and read the Spam Report. It matched GTUBE rule - for Generic Test for Unsolicited Bulk Mail

Test2- ESVA Test - Antivirus Protection

Next, let test our ESVA's antivirus protection. We are using ECIAR Standard Antivirus Test File. This is a safe file,code,zip archive that simulate as virus but it is perfectly safe to pass around. To simplify the test, just visit the following URL, and sent all the file format to your mail server.
