CentOS Linux Server Installation , FAQ, Tips and Tricks



Install Moodle2.x on  Centos 5.5

Configure Apache Web Severver, create Moodledata folder

 

Step1 : Download your moodle to your directory. For me, I like every packages to /software for easy management purposes

 

Step2: Extract the moodle packages

 
cd /software

tar -zxvf moodle-2.x.tgz

 

Step3: This is optional. However, rename the moodle to moodle20 will make you easier to identify for maitenance purposes
mv moodle moodle20

 

Step4: Move the mooodle folder to html direcory
mv moodle20 /var/www/html

cd /var/www/html

 

Step5: Change ownership from root to apache user for moodle20 folder

chown -R apache.apache moodle20

 

Step6: Make a drectory for moodle data. My folder is name as moodledata20
mkdir /var/www/moodledata20

 

Step7: Change ownership from root to apache
chown -R apache.apache moodledata20

 

Step8: Now launch your browser and follow the guide on to install moodle2.x
