It was not an easy task to virtualize Linux distributions for VMWare products such as VMWare Workstation, Vshpere ESX or ESXi. Even with the new version VMWare Converter Standalone Client that can perform hot virtualization. I encounter various kinds of strange error such as virtualization stop/hang at 97%, kernel panic etc. This is not a definitely not a comprehensive guide to Linux virtualization, because most of the steps are customized to my environment. Due to lack of information, it took me quite a while to complete Linux virtualization. If you have better guide, please share your guide to the OSS community.
Most of the guide here are based on 'cold' virtualization using famous open source cloning tool - Clonezilla.
